Who is better, Vick or Young?

So after this huge, unexpected Eagles win, many fans are questioning if Vince Young should start over Vick next week if Vick is healthy. And I say, ARE YOU STUPID? hahahahaha! Just kidding, but seriously, why would you start Young over Vick?

Once this Eagles team came back to win in the fourth quarter and finally stopped its opponent from scoring, Eagles fans rejoiced and overreacted. This was one of the first games they have kept a fourth quarter lead/ won the game in the fourth quarter, all season, and it's ironic that it would come when Michael Vick is injured and Vince Young steps up to take quarterback position. Vince Young picked up a 66.9 Quarterback Rating, better than Vick's average of 58.1 per game, so I can understand why many people would come to this conclusion. But Vince isn't the one who should take credit for the Eagles' win. When you look at this game, was it Vince Young's 3 interceptions that won this game and kept the Giants from scoring? On the contrary, it definitely helped the Giants.

It's both their offensive and defensive line that should really be praised for this game.  The line kept the Giants from exploding in their dominate offense. Eli couldn't even get the ball of on some plays and most of the time, needed to force throw to try to get some yards. Eli would at one point be 2-9 in the first half, his worst start of the season. So did their defensive line get the job done? I certainly think so.

In terms of their offensive line, they were great as well. They forced the defensive to stay on the field for long periods of time, and kept Vince Young well protected at all times on the field, especially Jason Peters. He didn't let Osi Umenyiora come within a yard of Young the entire game. This let Young take his time, and most of the time, would help Jackson get wide open in the wholes of the Giants secondary. The Giants, who lead the league in sacks, didn't even get a single one last night. That's pretty good for a 3-6 team going into the game with lost hope of a playoff berth.

So, overall, I would definitely play Michael Vick over Vince Young. Sure Vince Young still has that starter ability, but if the Eagles want to win, Vick is the better player as of right now. More importantly, Eagles fans should thank their offensive and defensive lines, and hope that this group will play this way every week, and stay healthy.
