Alright, now that I've had time to cool down over this blowout loss, I would like to point out a few things for all of you Giants fans:
1. Calm down. Sure the Giants have lost 3 straight and now have another tough game against the Packers, but you can't just throw all of your blame at Tom Coughlin and the coaches. Even though the Giants might collapse for the 3rd straight season, you have to remember that it's not his fault. Every week, he prepares an inspiring message to his team and always works out the flaws for the next game. You can't blame this on him, at least for this season. His team has been riddled with injuries so much so that the Giants had to start two rookie linebackers and 2nd and 3rd string cornerbacks. What do you expect from them, when they play a team who has about 5 or 6 potential stars on the field at one time. I mean, look at their Tight End, Jimmy Graham. He is potentially a wide receiver because of how many catches and touchdowns he makes! Even first stringers have a hard time covering him! But the bottom line is, don't blame the coaches and the players. If you want to blame someone, blame the GM, Jerry Reese. Sure, he usually does great, but this year was so horrible! He didn't get anyone for the Giants on defense to help out! Now, sure, he didn't expect all of these injuries, but you have to have more options, especially at linebacker, for cases like this. I mean, to only have one or two potential starters is crazy! So I believe that Tom Coughlin should not be fired, because he is one of the best coaches out there, and if you fire him, who's the replacement?
2. Eli Manning and his receiving core. In my opinion, this is the best receiving core in the NFC East. I'd take them over Dez Bryant and Robinson any day! Maybe it's not the talent, but more of Eli Manning's ability to do great every game. I believe that if you are a Giants fan, this is the only part of this team, besides Tom Coughlin, that you can look forward to and admire. Every week, no matter what the circumstances are, Eli is always playing at his best. The reason why they are losing is because of their defensive play against good teams, and the lack of running game against bad teams. Every game this season, the offense has played great in terms of the passing game, but the defense and the running game has always been iffy. If this defensive line of the Giants cannot get any pressure on Aaron Rodgers, this game, I hate to say it, could be a blowout. But even if they can hit him and know him down to disrupt the passing game, this game could be a lot closer than many think. All I can say is, good luck defense, and keep up the good work Manning, Cruz, Nicks, and Manningham.
Those are just a few things that I've taken away from this Giants game. I do believe they have a chance against the Packers, but I won't let you know until Friday when my predictions come out. Tune in for some more coverage tomorrow, as I will get you ready for this Sunday with injury reports and breaking news.
