Alright guys, it's time for some much needed predictions on who will play the best in Week 14 in each of their positions. Once again, you can take this post and use it in 2 ways:
1. As a fantasy predictor on who you should play this week
2. The key matchups for your teams heading into Week 14 that could help your team win the game.
And now that's over with, let's get started with each position. Since the Cowboys already played last night and won, I will not include any of their players, so it will just be the Giants, Redskins, and Eagles.
1. Quarterback: Eli Manning (Giants). This guy is the only guy (besides maybe Tony Romo) that I would have on my team at this point in the season. I think that he is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and why would it stop now against this Redskins secondary? With Cruz and Nicks at his disposal, this could be a high scoring game against the Redskins. But many of you will ask, "What about Rex Grossman?" Well, I'll admit, the Giants secondary is downright horrible, and the Redskins have had good performances out of their receivers as well. But Rex has thrown at least one interception in the last eight games, so I don't see a great performance out of him.
2. Running Back: Roy Helu (Redskins), Bradshaw and Jacobs (Giants), and McCoy (Eagles). Let's start with Roy Helu. This guy has been amazing the past few weeks, and still could be amazing this week. Although the Giants can stop the run fairly well, there are a lot of injuries in their secondary and line that could help Helu. I think he can get a big game out of this defense. Now, Bradshaw and Jacobs. Jacobs has performed extremely well the past two weeks and has shown signs of his old bruising self. I look for big game for not only him, but Bradshaw as well. If the Giants can throw good screen passes, they could have this game beat at the end of the first half. But McCoy, I was a little unsure about. This Jets defense has really improved in the last few weeks, but they are injury-riddled. McCoy could have a big game, or he could be shut down depending on how this game starts out early.
3. Wide Receivers: Giants and Redskins. These Giants' wide receivers are the best, not only in the division, but I would also say, in the entire league! Hakeem Nicks had a huge performance last week, with 8 receptions for 168 yards! Victor Cruz has also been great with his athletic ability to break tackles. Mario Manningham is a great receiver for Eli as well because of his ability to break off from the corner. I see a big game this week if the Giants want to throw it a lot, which they have been doing for almost the entire season. But for the Redskins, these receivers could have a big game against this bad Giants secondary. Jabar Gaffney has really emerged as their best receiver, and if the Giants play like they did against the Cowboys, there could be blown coverages everywhere...
So that's it for these three positions. I have decided to break this up into two posts, otherwise it would be too long for you guys to read. So stay tuned in to this blog, as Part 2 should be up in about 20 minutes.
